Events in Margate From 28th September – 4th October 2026

As you look through the events in Margate this week, you’ll find a focus on live comedic performances. If you enjoy sharp wit and an evening of laughter, you’re in luck. Touring comedians are performing their latest material. This is a chance to spend an evening enjoying comedy, with performers sharing their perspectives and humorous observations on stage. Consider an evening out as a contrast to the ongoing refurbishment of Margate Museum, or as an alternative should the Margate Station roof be leaking during inclement weather. You might consider these evenings an occasion to unwind and enjoy storytelling through a comedic lens. The performers presenting this week are known for their engaging styles, ensuring a captivating experience. This entertainment provides a direct connection between audience and artist, making each show unique. While the Theatre Royal and Winter Gardens remain closed, these performances offer a different way to spend your leisure time. You can reach venues easily via the Southeastern train service from London Victoria or St Pancras International, though be aware of potential parking difficulties in central areas. You'll find the acts scheduled offer different styles of comedy, all falling under the broad category of stand-up. This means you can choose an evening that suits your preference for comedic style, from observational humour to more narrative sets. There are multiple chances to catch a performance across the days, giving you flexibility to plan your week. Perhaps combine an evening show with a walk along the recently restored Margate Pier, a landmark from the 19th century. For full details on timings and locations, check the listings below. Keep in mind potential overcrowding at Dreamland if you’re travelling during peak hours. You might also consider utilising the Cantii Way cycle route for a different perspective of the town.
